Rock-solid operations at an aggregate wash plant thrive on strong leadership and teamwork demonstrated on-site every day. At Perry Plant in Senatobia, MS, Carmichael Roberts has consistently received praise for embodying these qualities. Thus, we are excited to announce his promotion to Foreman of Perry Plant.

Carmichael has been actively involved in all aspects of site operations since he began his career in 2002 at Memphis Stone & Gravel, A Granite Company. These roles include serving as an equipment operator, a plant operator, a sales ticket writer, and most recently, as a Leadman.
Eddie Ragsdale, Superintendent, shared his perspective on why Carmichael was such an excellent fit for the Foreman role. He noted, “Carmichael consistently showed ‘want to’ and desire to learn all he can.” Scott Jefferies, Assistant Superintendent, added, “Carmichael is a good learner and has done a good job of keeping production going, encouraging the team to meet those goals.”
Not only is our core value of continuous improvement a major focus, but safety is also paramount each and every day. Eddie went on to add, “Carmichael is always watching out for the safety of everybody and encouraging his team to do the same. He really tries to set an example for everyone.”
Scott agreed with Carmichael’s emphasis on site safety, recognizing its crucial role in creating a secure working environment for everyone involved. He shared, “Carmichael does a great job in the huddle-ups in the morning, talking about a different safety topic each day. Not only does he ensure his team is always wearing the correct PPE, but I have heard him repeat how he wants everyone to go home safe at the end of the day, just like how they came to work in the morning.”
Thus, it is no surprise that Carmichael continues to lead with an emphasis on people, often praised for his focus on our core value of relationships. Eddie confirmed, “He has a good relationship with the rest of the team, and we all thought he was perfect for the role.”
Henry Reed, Assistant Superintendent, closed by adding, “I think Carmichael represents all of our core values, but the value of relationships stands out to me the most. We have always had a good relationship between the two of us, and I think he is like that with everyone on his team.”
Carmichael, thank you for your continued dedication to site excellence, safety, and people. We look forward to watching you excel in this role!
