A major part of Terry’s success in his role is his contagious initiative. Eddie continued, “If Terry sees a task that needs to be taken care of, he jumps in. He doesn’t wait to be told.”

Our team often uses the phrase “sweeping the floors” to signify our core value of humility. This means that anyone at any level in the company is willing to do whatever is necessary for a job well done. No task is too small for a leader. Eddie recounted an example of this in Terry’s role by sharing, “We were discussing landscape upkeep around the plant one day. Terry went ahead and got a backpack sprayer and sprayed the entire plant on his own. He decided it needed to happen and got it done… That’s great initiative.”

Assistant Superintendent Scott Jefferies added, “Terry is a very hard worker. You don’t have to ask him to do something. If he sees a task or repair that needs to be completed, consider it done.”

That same care for plant operations is extended to the mentorship Terry displays with his team. “Terry is a leader to his core. Everybody loves working with him,” shared Carmichael Roberts, Acting Foreman. “He exemplifies all of our core values and continually finds ways we can all be better as one. That’s my guy.”

Eddie added, “It took him a very short period of time to build a relationship with the crew. He’s already right in there mentoring others and watching out for the safety of the team.”

Scott closed by sharing, “Terry also really exemplifies our core value of relationships. He is one of the nicest guys you’ll ever meet.” He joked, “Terry has never met a stranger. He would give anybody the shirt off his back. All in all, he makes all of our lives easier.”
