Memphis Stone & Gravel and sister company Lehman-Roberts, a leader in the aggregate, construction, asphalt and highway paving industry, is pleased to announce the appointments of Patrick Rzeszut to Fleet Maintenance Planner/Scheduler, Tanjala McEwen-Fields to HR Generalist, and Brandon Lulow to Operations Coordinator.
Serving as Fleet Maintenance Planner/Scheduler, Patrick will support the Equipment Maintenance division in proactively planning and scheduling equipment maintenance with operators, crew foremen, and maintenance mechanics for the family of companies. Patrick gained related experience after spending 24 years in the U.S. Navy as an Aviation Maintenance Manager. In this role, he oversaw contracts for all maintenance, including both aircrafts and parts, for 155 airplanes. Patrick remarked, “This company is amazing. When you talk to everybody, you realize that a majority of people have been here for 10+ years. There’s values in the company that match up very well with my own values.”
In her role as HR Generalist, Tanjala will work closely with both employees and supervisors across the family of companies to understand needs and provide support. She will also play a key role in continuing to shape the organization’s culture, as well as work to cultivate a positive work experience for all. Before joining the team, Tanjala served as an HR Coordinator for a local staffing service. In this role, she handled a mixture of duties, which included office management, onboarding, on-site training, and more. Tanjala shared, “Everyone’s energy makes me [happy] to come to work every day. Just getting to know everyone is the exciting part.”
As Operations Coordinator, Brandon will take on monitoring trucking operations through the companies’ operational software to ensure haulers are paid both timely and accurately. This will include completing time cards and matching tickets for material hauls, as well as reviewing and handling any corrections necessary on the construction hauling side. Brandon joins the team with a background in freight brokering, in which he connected customers with truck drivers. When asked about his experience thus far with the company, he shared, “I’ve learned a lot in these last few weeks. I like the management, my peers, and the work environment.”
