MEMPHIS, Tenn., February 23, 2021 – Lehman-Roberts Co. and sister company Memphis Stone & Gravel, a leader in the highway paving, construction, asphalt and aggregate industry, is pleased to announce the appointments of Melissa Negron as HR Generalist, as well as Mike Crowson and Andrew Ray as Safety Coordinators.
In her role as HR Generalist, Melissa will use her broad knowledge of human resource functions, from recruiting and onboarding to ensuring compliance. After graduating from Bradley University in Peoria, Illinois, she transitioned to human resources, noting her interest in working with people. Melissa joins the family of companies with 15 years of experience in HR, most recently with Scot Forge in Spring Grove, Illinois. In addition, she currently holds a SHRM-CP certification through Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM).

Her former experience grants her a special aptitude to seek out potential candidates who share in our mission and core values,” said Human Resources Manager Melanie Stinson, to whom Negron reports.
As Safety Coordinators, both Mike and Andrew will play a key role in cultivating the safety culture of the companies. Their primary focus will be to observe, coach, mentor and train crews in proper safety processes and techniques. They will also ensure policies and procedures are followed, conduct inspections, lead safety topic discussions, analyze safety data to identify hazard areas and apply the appropriate resources to eliminate or reduce risk. Mike previously served on the Quality Control team of the companies since spring of 2019. Andrew, who has been a member of the companies’ Construction Division since late 2018, previously served within paving operations.
